What Is Sports Training
Maximum Performance's sports enhancement involves all of the concepts for improving power, speed, agility, and core strength. All classes begin with an active warm up which readies the body for the stress about to be placed upon it. Spring posture is taught and trained by focusing on the triple extension of the ankles, knees, and hips along with proper arm action. Foot speed and agility is taught and trained using a variety of drills including the use of agility ladders, cones, and hurdles. Plyometrics are taught and trained focusing on proper take-offs and landing. Movement awareness or the ability to perceive and react to stimuli is enhanced through the use of reaction drills. Manipulative skills or movements that focus on the control of objects are improved through propulsive and receptive skills being incorporated into basic drills. Core stability and balance is worked through the use of medicine balls, balance boards, and other implements. Flexibility is promoted through the proper integration of stretching.
